Much has been made about the Diverging Diamond interchange at Ashford Dunwoody Road and I-285. Currently, the main construction has made way for the interchange to be operational.

The new alignment is designed to reduce traffic during peak hours up to 20 percent and increase safety.

The pedestrian walkway is well on its way, but there are a large number of orange cones around the interchange.

At times, some construction workers don't appear to be working on projects. Which begs the question, what gives?

Georgia DOT officials did not return calls immediately Monday about the status of the interchange, and the workers at the construction site.
