Contractors for the Georgia Department of Transportation will shift travel lanes during the overnight hours Thursday and Friday night to allow for the demolition and removal of the final standing components of the former toll plaza on GA 400.
The work will take place from approximately 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. both nights, weather permitting.
Thursday’s lane shift will be on the three GA 400 northbound lanes, which will be shifted to the right of the remaining northbound toll plaza structure; the new lane configuration will be in place for the Friday morning commute.
Friday night, a similar lane shift and restriping will occur on the three southbound lanes, with the new configuration in place by Friday morning’s commute. The new configurations will continue to provide three travel lanes in each direction.
Upon completion of the demolition in approximately two months, lanes again will be shifted into their permanent configuration.
