The city of Sandy Springs on Monday will start its sidewalk construction on one of its major thoroughfares.
The city will start the .15 mile sidewalk construction on Hammond Drive from Barfield Road to Glenridge Drive.
The project will complete a three-quarter mile stretch of sidewalks "providing walking residents with a passageway from Hammond Park to the city limits of Dunwoody," the city said in a news release.
The project follows the design in place for the Perimeter Community Improvement Districts (PCID) streetscape program.
Motorists should expect lane closures during the construction period, and are asked to use caution when driving in the area. Construction is expected to be completed within the next two months, weather permitting.
