Sandy Springs will install a sidewalk on Hammond Drive between Barfield Road and Glenridge Drive.

The city of Sandy Springs on Monday will start its sidewalk construction on one of its major thoroughfares.

The city will start the .15 mile sidewalk construction on Hammond Drive from Barfield Road to Glenridge Drive.

The project follows the design in place for the Perimeter Community Improvement Districts (PCID) streetscape program.

Motorists should expect lane closures during the construction period, and are asked to use caution when driving in the area.  Construction is expected to be completed within the next two months, weather permitting.
