Johnson Ferry/Riverside Traffic Signal Activiation Delayed Until Tuesday

The Sandy Springs signal will prohibit right on red onto Riverside Drive, southbound from Johnson Ferry Road.

The City of Sandy Springs has delayed activation of its new traffic signal at Johnson Ferry Road and Riverside Drive until Tuesday. Programmers experienced issues with the system timing, and want to monitor the system over several days to ensure proper operation.

The signal will prohibit right on red onto Riverside Drive, southbound from Johnson Ferry Road. A flashing yellow arrow will permit a right turn after yielding to traffic.

The signal is being installed to enhance safety at that intersection, in particular, to accommodate sight distance issues on Riverside.
