Mayor Applauds CBS and Several New Businesses Coming to the City

CBS Corporation announced last week it would be locating its technology support division in Sandy Springs.

 

Forty new business license applications have been requested per month since January, Sandy Springs officials say, with health and wellness businesses dominating activity.

The city issued 12 business licenses during the first three weeks in June which will bring physician offices, a pharmacy, several recreation centers, as well as a new Wellstreet Urgent Care facility into the city, an announcement said. In addition six new beauty salon owners applied for permits.

“We hear a lot in the news media about larger companies locating businesses within the metro area, but we also want to celebrate the small business owners,” said Mayor Eva Galambos, in the statement. “They are heart and soul of the business community.”

In addition to health care, Sandy Springs has attracted the technology sector.  Business and technology firm, Genesis10, relocated to Sandy Springs in May. GT Software cut the ribbon on its new Sandy Springs headquarters in June. CBS Corporation announced last week it would be locating its technology support division in Sandy Springs. Also, two new employment agencies specializing in technology placements applied for business licenses in June.
