Meetings This Week Include Daylong Planning Commission Retreat

The retreat will be held from 8 a.m-5 p.m., Thursday, at the Hammond Park Community Building.

The Design Review Board was scheduled to meet at 9 a.m., today, at City Hall.

The Charter Commission meets at 4 p.m., today.

Since March, the Commission has met to discuss changes to the Charter, which will ultimately be delivered in a written report to the legislative delegation from Sandy Springs in the General Assembly, and to the City Council.

Charter items under review at future meetings include: Term limits for the Mayor and City Council, providing the Mayor with more authority to oversee the City Manager, and spending limit caps.

During the last meeting, members decided against at-large City Council Seats.

A Planning Commission Retreat will be held from 8 a.m-5 p.m., Thursday, at the Hammond Park Community Building. The agenda includes remarks by members of the Atlanta Regional Commission; Mayor Eva Galambos on major initiatives; and city attorneys Wendall Willard and Cecil McClendon on expectations of the Commission. A regular Planning Commission meeting will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday at the Hammond Park Community Building, 705 Hammond Drive.
