Scientology in Headlines as Sandy Springs Looks at Church Zoning

A pending zoning modification would convert the Church of Scientology office building into a church at Glenridge Drive and Roswell Road.

The divorce of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes has put the Church of Scientology in the national headlines. It has been in Sandy Springs' headlines lately because of a pending zoning modification that would convert the Church of Scientology office building into a church at Glenridge Drive and Roswell Road.

City Council has delayed its vote on zoning modification conditions for the property, until July 17.

Many residents who object to a church space at that location cite traffic concerns. But, our informal poll shows that half of the overall respondents are not comfortable with a local Scientology church space for various reasons beyond traffic.

Take our poll below, if you haven’t already. Tell us more in the comments about your take on the issue.
