“If you’re going to campaign for President, you have to campaign to be President for all Americans.” -- Journalist John Heilemann on "Morning Joe" after release of video of Mitt Romney remarking on 47 percent of country.

Co-host Joe Scarborough contrasted Romney with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's actions after he took office. Scarborough recalled how Christie reached out to Newark Mayor Corey Booker and citizens across political party lines.

Mitt lacks character. he lacks integrity; he lacks an internal compass. These hollows serve him well as a corporate shirt where the bottom line is just the bottom line. But they cannot serve us well as the chief executive obligated to all citizens.

Desperation is such an unattractive trait.

Adrianne, President Obama was blasted in the media for his dangerous Middle East policy where now more than 20 countries are attacking our embassy and burning our flag and shouting "we hate America" .. and in Libya KILLING 4 Americans. He and his State Department withheld the truth and lied about who was behind the attacks. Our ambassador was dragged through the streets and brutally tortured and killed. Have you seen the pictures? You appear quite partisan.

Thanks for your comment, Suzanne. I'm not clear about what's partisan in the idea of a Presidential candidate wanting to be President for all Americans. How do you feel about Bill Kristol's blog blasting Romney? Are he and other people who have remarked on Romney's comments biased too? http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/note-romney-s-arrogant-and-stupid-remarks_652548.html

You have it all wrong. Romney was simply stating a fact that he couldn't be worried about trying to attract voters who have already committed to a socialist agenda. He needed to concentrate on trying to win people that are winnable to his approach to government. "What do you think the muslim/socialist in chief is doing in the white house?"
