TSPLOST. On July 31st, voters in those regions will decide if they want an increased sales tax of one percent for 10 years. . Proponents say "There is no Plan B" to fund much-needed projects that will alleviate traffic congestion, while opponents say the tax isn't about congestion relief at all, among other things.

: Three non-partisan seats on the Fulton County Board of Education are up for election this summer, but only one is in North Fulton. Linda G. Shultz, the incumbent in District 1, will face a challenge by Robert Goodman.

: Five Democrats are seeking the Sheriff's office in Fulton County, with a retired chief of police, a sheriff's deputy, a retired sheriff and minister, and a sales professional all having qualified.

State House District 45. The district includes East Cobb and parts of Sandy Springs. Incumbent Republican Matt Dollar us running against Republicans Nick Johnson and Cynthia M. Rozzo. All are Marietta residents.

. A Sandy Springs resident, Republican is an attorney who served as Chief Counsel to Gov. Sonny Perdue; the Vice Chairman of the State Ethics Commission; and a Special Assistant Attorney General representing Georgia to challenge President Barack Obama's healthcare plan. He faces Democratic incumbent Doug Stoner, and Rebulicans Hunter Hill and Drew Ellenburg.

11th Congressional District Race. is running against incumbent Phil Gingrey and candidate Michael Opitz. The District includes parts of Sandy Springs, portions of Cobb County and all of Bartow and Cherokee Counties. Llop expects about a 20 percent turnout in Sandy Springs on election day and believes that will garner the 15,000 votes he believes will win him the election.
