College Baseball Great Ron Polk to Speak at Riverwood, Wednesday

A baseball great will speak at Riverwood High School in January.

Ron Polk, a College Baseball Hall of Famer, appears at Riverwood, today.  He signs copies of his book, “The Baseball Playbook,” starting at 6 p.m.

Polk is one of only three coaches to lead three different schools – Georgia Southern, Mississippi State University and the University of Georgia – to the College World Series. In all, his teams made eight College World Series appearances, won five SEC championships and made 23 Regional appearances.  Visit the College Baseball Hall of Fame website to see his induction speech.

Other inductees in Polk’s class included Branch Rickey and Rafael Palmeiro, who attended Mississippi State University.
