“Our last win against Pace was back in 2008 – we had eight losses in a row to them,” Kelly said. “We went on a 22-2 run late in the first and early in the second quarter. We handled their pressure defense with great confidence – we turned it over only 10 times.”Holy Innocents’ once again got some red-hot shooting from freshman Sam Asbury – Asbury scored 24 points on 7-for-14 shooting and three, 3-pointers. Another key stat was the rebounding of Jim Voyles – the junior grabbed four offensive and six defensive boards for a total of 10.

The balanced scoring included Josh Ledbetter and Scott Carpenter with nine each, Jim Voyles eight, Ed Voyles seven, Jack McGrew four, Alec Bicknese three and Cole Woodyard two. Carpenter, Will Small and Jim Voyles all handed out three assists each.

Three HI seniors were honored in a special ceremony before the game - Carpenter, Bicknese and Woodyard. All have played big roles in the hoops program and will be sorely missed after this season.
