Holy Spirit Prep Girls Raise Money for St. Joseph's Hospital

Girls basketball players and cheerleaders at the Sandy Springs school are currently raising funds and will present a check to the Mercy Foundation in February.

 

Girls basketball players and cheerleaders at Holy Spirit Preparatory School are busy selling T-shirts, baked goods and pink items to raise money for St. Joseph’s Hospital Mercy Foundation for women’s health. 

They will present a check to the foundation between the girls and boys basketball games on Feb. 27 - the students’ first annual “Cougars Cares Benefit Night.” The players and cheerleaders plan to wear pink and request fans to wear pink attire also.

The Cougars host Mount Vernon Presbyterian School, that night. The game will be a rematch between key rivals. The Lady Cougars defeated Mount Vernon for the first time in school history on Jan. 9.

The idea for the “Cougars Care Benefit Night” was inspired by the Lady Cougars players who wanted to create a signature program to benefit women in the Atlanta community.
