Twelve high school students from Sapporo, Japan visited Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School, Thursday.
The exchange students from Asahigaoka High School arrived in metro Atlanta on Wednesday night and return home on Jan. 11. The students took snapshots of their Chik-fil-A sandwiches, a food favorite, while touring the HIES campus. They plan to visit the Georgia Aquarium, on Friday.
"These visits empower our students to become acquainted with people of a different culture and gain insights into their culture, to make long lasting friends, and ultimately to become in charge of their own education," said Gerard Gatoux, a HIES faculty organizer, in a statement.
Holy Innocents' has formal sister-school relationships with high schools in Sapporo, Japan; Briey, France; and Buenos Aires, Argentina. And the process has begun to establish a relationship with a school in South Africa.
