Junior Raiders Lacrosse Team Charges Forward

Considered one of the fastest growing sports in America, lacrosse is expanding in Sandy Springs' Riverwood cluster.

 

At 23 players strong, the Junior Raiders a newly-formed lacrosse team, has played four games this spring and now have a record of 2-2.

Players mostly attend Ridgeview Charter School but a few come from other schools.

Since lacrosse isn't offered at most middle schools, some Sandy Springs parents of lacrosse enthusiasts formed a nonprofit organization to train their middle school-aged sons. Under the leadership of Coaches Devin Madden and Robert Watters, the team began practicing in January and began game season in March.
