Items will be donated to the Cowart Family/Ashford-Dunwoody YMCA. The equipment will benefit needy children enrolled in the after-school programs and summer camp programs.

Keep Sandy Springs Beautiful and Live Thrive Atlanta wants to take your old sports equipment off your hands.

A collection event will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, at Century Springs Office Park, 6100 Lake Forrest Drive. Gently used items, including baseball, soccer and tennis gear will be accepted.

Items will be donated to the Cowart Family/Ashford-Dunwoody YMCA. The equipment will benefit needy children enrolled in the after-school programs and summer camp programs.

The event is part of this weekend's Sandy Springs Festival activities.

There are lots of kids who could benefit from these donations. I'll be collecting some of our slightly used items to donate.
