Riverwood Experiences Another Change in Principals

Sandy Springs principal Chris Triolo has resigned to be closer to family and has accepted another job. He replaced Eddie Echols who allegedly misused an American Express card, racking up $25,000 in charges.

Riverwood International Charter School will have another new principal this month.

Principal Chris Triolo has resigned to be closer to family and has accepted another job. He leaves Jan 23rd and will be replaced by an interim principal.

His resignation came as a surprise to most parents and students.

Triolo was hired in October 2011 to replace former principal Eddie Echols, who was forced to resign following an audit report that revealed he used a school American Express Card for personal transactions, allegedly racking up $25,000 in charges.

Triolo has accepted a position in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System in North Carolina where he previously worked. Superintendent Robert Avossa was also hired from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System.
