Riverwood Names 2012 STAR Student

The Sandy Springs student received the University of Rochester Xerox Award for Innovation and Technology.

 

Aaron Bhole' is Riverwood International Charter School's STAR Student for 2012. The STAR student is the senior who has the highest SAT score on all three sections on a single test date and ranks in the top ten percent of the senior class.

The Professional Association of Georgia Educators Foundation sponsors the STAR Student and STAR Teacher program.

Aaron has selected Sheri Smith as his STAR teacher. "I chose Mrs. Smith, my IB Business and Management teacher," says Aaron, "because she goes above and beyond expectations both in class and outside, through the support she provides."  

Smith and Aaron will be recognized at the upcoming PAGE STAR Student and Teacher banquet and Midtown Atlanta Rotary Club breakfast.

Aaron, 17, is president of the Riverwood chapter and a state officer of the Future Business Leaders of America and captain of the RoboRaiders - Riverwood's former world champion robotics team. He received the University of Rochester Xerox Award for Innovation and Technology, and is president of the Beta Club, VP of the Senior Class, and captain of the Cricket Club.

He is keeping his college options open with applications pending at a number of schools. Aaron is the son of Raj and Rama Bhole' of Sandy Springs.
