Riverwood Students Take Summer Trip to Japan

The Sandy Springs Students were among six United States high schools that participated in the summer study program. The trip was funded by the Japanese government.

Sixteen Riverwood International Charter School high school students represented the state of Georgia during an 11-day trip to Japan, called KAKEHASHI Project -The Bridge for Tomorrow.

Six high schools from the United States participated in the program, which was funded by the Japanese government.

Riverwood’s students were invited to the city hall of Saga Prefecture (a region in the northwest part of the island of Kyushu)  and The National Diet of Japan – Japan’s bicameral (two-house) legislature. 

Students also visited a local school where they experienced the Japanese martial art of Kendo.
