Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School junior Peter Myer won the Best Negotiator award at the International Model United Nations Association conference at Emory University, held Nov. 9–11.
In its first year of competition, the HIES Model UN Team, made up of 13 members, competed against some 600 students from across the United States and other countries.
“I'm very proud of our entire group for representing the school so well,” said faculty advisor Kacey Michelsen. “Peter was a co-sponsor and leader of the resolution that was passed to improve access to education worldwide. And our Secretary General Eboni Statham, a senior, was so moved by the experience that she now plans on applying to be a staff member to Model UN conferences while in college.”
