The 10th anniversary of Partners in Literacy was recently celebrated at Woodland Elementary School.

A dedicated group of parent and community volunteers paired up weekly to read with a first grader needing reading support.

The primary purpose of the program is to foster positive feelings about reading centered around a meaningful relationship with a caring adult. This provides a strong basis for friendship, motivation, and an appreciation of reading.
