Georgia: A Special Dog Finds Her Way Into Hearts

This mini-dachshund is waiting for you to adopt her from the Atlanta Humane Society's Mansell campus, in North Fulton.

Sometimes there is one special dog that finds her way into the hearts of all she meets and Georgia is just that girl for the staff and volunteers. Georgia is a black and tan mini dachshund who is sweet, gentle, loves to be patted and sits in laps!

This little girl is almost 3 years old and at 12 pounds is a good combination of playful energy mixed with the desire to relax and snuggle with her loved ones. Overall she is a calm dog who enjoys being carried and petted and has a very gentle demeanor. She has even been known to cheerfully wear sweaters!

Georgia is also mostly hairless, which adds to her individuality. Although she is a long-haired dachshund, she has a genetic disorder that caused her hair to fall out. Most of it will never grow back but she still has long hair on her feet and ears so it will be important for her to receive regular, basic grooming. She
does not need any treatment for this and it does not cause her any pain. You can see from her pictures that this in no way detracts from her beauty and you have an added bonus of not having her shed all over your house! Georgia is truly one of a kind and would welcome the chance to show you this.

Georgia has been vaccinated, dewormed, spayed, micro-chipped and tested negative for heartworms.

All Georgia wants is the opportunity to show you how much love she has to share with your household.

Come meet Georgia at the Atlanta Humane Society’s Mansell Campus so you can see for yourself why we love her so much. We are located at 1565 Mansell Road, Alpharetta, GA 30009. An adoption application can be filled out at our location and we can be reached at 404-875-5331 with questions.
