Weekender: Art Festivals, Comedy and Mother's Day Fun

  •  Mother’s Day Painting Class. A two-hour painting class includes supplies, step-by-step instruction and your choice of one martini or splitting a pitcher of margaritas with two others. 2 p.m., Sunday at Teela Taqueria.  $30.  All ages welcome. Registration required at www.getcreativeatl.com
  • Lynne Koplitz at The Punchline. The actress and stand-up comedienne performs at the comedy club through Sunday. Visit the website for showtimes and prices.
  • Gardening By The Springs: Gardening with Hostas. Join the North Fulton Master Gardeners in cooperation with the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension to learn more about how to use Hostas. We will cover varieties of Hostas, propagation tips and how to use Hostas effectively for your shady garden areas. 10 a.m. Saturday, 6100 Bluestone Road. Free.
  • 22nd Annual Colors Festival of the Arts. Celebrate mom and bring the whole family to experience original arts and crafts created from sparkling glass, paintings, photography, jewelry, and sculptures. Entertainment is scheduled throughout the day and an array of festive food vendors will be on hand to satisfy everyone appetite. Shuttle services will be provided as a convenience for festival attendees and will run from Roswell City Hall to the Town Square throughout the weekend. 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
  • Dunwoody Art Festival. The annual event will stretch two city blocks and showcase an artist’s market that will extend for more than a third of a mile. A food court will be open. Local musical acts are set to perform on the entertainment stage, and an interactive children’s area in the Bank of North Georgia’s parking lot ill have lively rides, face painting, sand art and great surprises from Dunwoody’s own, Purple Hippo. 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. 5506 Chamblee Dunwoody Road.
