Weekender: Steely Dan, Movies by Moonlight and More

  • Movies by Moonlight. Leadership Sandy Springs' annual Movies by Moonlight continues Friday with the screening of "Oz: The Great and Powerful," on the lawn at the Hitson Activity Center, at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church. Festivities start at 6 p.m. The film starts at dusk. The Hitson Center is located at 86 Mount Vernon Highway. Free. 
  • Special Admission at Museums. Bank of America’s Museums on Us offers free weekend access to Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholders at select museums across the country. In Atlanta, participating museums include Atlanta History Center and High Museum of Art.
  • Sandy Springs Estate Sale. Quality estate sale of lifelong traveler, collector, and war veteran. Items include primitive furniture, quality log cabin furniture, rustic handmade benches and tables, vintage tools, entertainment Center, camping equipment, stamp collection, and much more.  At the Intersection of Lake Island Drive and Long Island Drive. 
  • Jazz at Café 290. Keyboardist William Green and vocalist Kipper Jones perform at 9 p.m., Friday. Saxophonist Reggie Hinds performs at 9 p.m., Saturday. Saxman Gary Harris leads the All-Star Jazz Session at 9 p.m., Sunday. Admission is $10.
