Weekender: Theater, Latin Dance Party, Jazz, Mojitos Cocktail Sales for Tornado Victims

See what's going on in Sandy Springs and nearby, this holiday weekend.

 

  • Mojito Proceeds to Benefit Tornado Victims. Eclipse di Luna will donate 100 percent of Mojito cocktail sales to the Oklahoma Red Cross, all day on Friday. Alon's shopping center across from Perimeter Mall. 
  • Jazz Concert at Chastain. Rick Braun, Kirk Whalum, Norman Brown, Chrisette Michele and Bwb perform, 7 p.m. Friday at Chastain Park Amphitheatre.
  • Play: “The Strange Attractor.The Act3 play tells the story of two married couples who experience a tragedy and come back together after eight years. Jesse Cramer, director of improv for Act3 Productions, drew on his experience as a former math major at Penn State to craft a play exploring how the Chaos Theory in math could be applied to human interaction.  8 p.m., Friday and Saturday. $10-$23.
  • Wit in Wood: The Folk Art of Moses Robinson. Moses Robinson (1845-1942) began whittling late in life. From animals to dancing couples, he carved the world around him in miniature. Wit in Wood is the first exhibition of his work. 11 a.m., Saturday, Heritage Sandy Springs Museum. $3/ 
  • Latin Dance Party. A fun night of dancing to the best mix of Salsa, Bachata and Merengue mixed with some high energy top 40s dance music to keep the dance floor hot. The evening starts a beginner Salsa lesson by Salsa ATL to get you warmed up. 8:30 pm., Sunday at Fanoos, 6125 Roswell Road. $10.
