Sandy Springs Deer Poacher Cited
A non-profit Georgia conservation organization program to stop illegal poaching has led to the arrest of a Sandy Springs man for illegal deer hunting.
A 20-year-old Sandy Springs man was cited by state wildlife officials for poaching a 12-point buck, thanks to an anonymous tipster and a non-profit tip line working to stop poachers. Lee Ellis, 20, of 500 Black Water Cove, was cited for hunting without a license and possession of illegally taken wildlife. The case will be processed through the North Fulton Environmental Court. “Wildlife belongs to all Georgians, said Robin Hill, Public Affairs Program Manager for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. “If someone poaches wildlife, they are robbing all Georgians of a recreational opportunity.” An anonymous caller to Turn in Poachers, Inc. triggered the case on Jan. 12, alerting the Department of Natural Resource Corporal Eric Sanders …
