New Woodland Elementary Principal Selected
Woodland has been in transition since Dr. Ruth L. Baskerville was removed as principal in April.
Fulton County Schools has named Amy Gamble as the new principal of Woodland Elementary. Gamble has been an assistant principal at Vanderlyn Elementary School since 2005. Her teaching experience includes five years at Austin Elementary in Dunwoody, and nearly three years at Murphy Candler Elementary in Lithonia. She also taught in Brevard County, Fla., in the late 1990s. Woodland Elementary has been in transition since Dr. Ruth L. Baskerville was removed as principal in April, after an investigation was launched regarding her conduct. Shortly afterwards, Baskerville and Fulton County Schools agreed on her official retirement, effective June 30. Cheryl Williams, formerly of Mimosa Elementary in Roswell, took over as interim principal.

Great choice. She knows the community and taught and helped lead two great Dunwoody schools. We should not rest until Woodland achieves the sane kind of results those Dunwoody schools have achieved. Amy Gamble is a great addition to the Woodland community.   more ›
