Sandy Springs Seeks Partnership for Fully Developed Downtown Project

Sandy Springs Mayor Eva Galambos said a master developer is the first step towards the goal of a public/private partnership.

Sandy Springs is looking for a development partner to lead efforts surrounding the 14-acre block bounded by Johnson Ferry Road to the north, Roswell Road to the east, Mount Vernon Highway to the south, and Sandy Springs Circle to the west, a statement said. 

During Tuesday’s City Council meeting, city staff presented guidelines for a Request for Qualifications for a master developer for the new downtown area. Also this week, the city released a draft RFQ for input from potential developers before the presentation of a final RFQ at the next meeting on Sept. 17.

Mayor Eva Galambos said a master developer is the first step towards the goal of a public/private partnership.

Ideally, the City Center project will be a mixed-use development with dining, luxury residential apartments, retail, a civic center cultural space and green space.
