Word Circulating on New Location for Heards Ferry Elementary School

The school board plans to renovate Riverwood International Charter School and move or rebuild Heards Ferry Elementary. Both Sandy Springs schools share a 50-acre property.

Fulton County Schools have continued to seek a new location for Heards Ferry Elementary School. A source told Patch the school system is strongly considering 6151 Powers Ferry Road. However, Patrick Burke, Deputy Superintendent of Operations, did not give Patch a confirmation.

Burke said, “We can’t make public any piece of property we are considering in Sandy Springs until after all due diligence is complete.”

Burke and Fulton County Schools spokesperson Samantha Evans said a public vote through the Board of Education would take place before a closing on any property would take place.
